- Empress of Heels makes use of a high proportion of low-impact materials such as organic cotton, apple leather, thunit and responsibly-sourced latex sponge.
- The lining of the shoes is made from corn fibre and recycled plastic bottles.
- The heel part of the shoes are made of recyclable plastic and steel.
- They make use of thunit and apple-based leather for manufacturing their heels, significantly minimising their carbon emissions.
- They ensure that their material is sourced from factories which operate from renewable energy. The factory producing thunit works on solar energy.
- They ensure that a minimum of 25% of the vegan leather derived from apple waste is repurposed.
- Their manufacturing takes place at a small, family-owned factory, near Krakow, Poland.
